The Bordeaux Story, Explained

Expert Guidance • Wine Education • Communication

Bordeaux Américain is a Bordeaux-based research, education and field-support resource for English-speaking wine organizations and serious private clients.

Bordeaux is one of the world’s great wine regions — and, to many wine lovers, the finest of them all. But its true character is found in more than famous labels and grand châteaux. It lies in the vineyards and soils, in agronomy and winemaking decisions, and in the people who shape each vintage.

Our work is dedicated to exploring Bordeaux in a deep, insightful way. Bordeaux Américain offers informational and educational content, private tours, educational tastings, workshops and importer support, all with the goal of bringing greater awareness and appreciation of the region to an Anglophone audience.

Holding the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines (with Distinction), Jeff Hullinger, our founder, spends his time building relationships with châteaux, speaking with winemakers and vineyard teams, studying viticulture and agronomy, and sharing what he learns. We invite you to experience our approach that is curious, intelligent, welcoming, and free of pretension.

Our goal is to present to wine lovers outstanding wines, beautiful estates, and clear, engaging explanations of how Bordeaux wine is grown and made, from vineyard to cellar.

Our goal is to share what we have learned from the region’s winemakers, vineyard teams, proprietors, and cavistes, and to leave our clients with a better understanding of how Bordeaux’s vineyards and cellars shape wine enjoyment to the fullest. Articles, videos and importer services are provided with the same objective.

On this website, articles and videos will exploring Bordeaux’s vineyards, winemaking practices, people, and wines. Some other articles may be published by wine, travel, and food publications. You’ll find links to our latest work on this site.
